In this Green Deal podcast, our journalists from across the EU ask young people - notably those who are unhappy with politicians’ action on the climate - what they are doing to fight climate change at their level. What concrete measures can we each put in place to improve our carbon footprints?

The so-called sharing economy, with its rental possibilities, allows goods to be used more efficiently, saving money and reducing waste. Perhaps you need a chainsaw to cut down the dead tree in your garden, an outfit for a gala event or a ski suit for your holiday... Are you going to buy these specialist items that may only be used once?
Little children are regularly told that sharing is caring, and it seems that this philosophy is gaining ground among adults in the EU - as our the journalists of our EU-wide network have found out.

Over the last decade, we Europeans have increasingly thrown our weight behind the drive to reduce plastic waste, on the one hand by reducing our plastic consumption at the outset and, on the other, by better managing the waste we produce. From reusable bags to separate bins in our kitchen, we have all developed new behaviours to support the fight. But the pandemic has revealed one major obstacle on the road to a plastic-free (or at least plastic-light) world: the field of hygiene. So, has the pandemic set us back in our quest to consign plastic to the bin of history?
